Will breastfeeding help me get my figure back?

Weight gain is an expected part of pregnancy. It accounts not only for the growth of your lovely bump but also for the extra fat stores which are laid down by the body to prepare you for feeding your baby. Breastfeeding is a terrific calorie burner and as you feed your stores will get gradually used up. This means it is much more likely for you to return to your pre-pregnancy size than if you were formula feeding. It's important to be realistic though, if you were a size 16 when you became pregnant, breastfeeding alone will not magically make you a size 10! By being responsible with your diet, exercise and breastfeeding, you should be back as you were in no time!
